The THBL area has a number of community venues – these are the ones we know – for more information follow the links to the directory, where you will find maps, opening times, booking procedures and blog post.

Tang Hall Community Centre

On Fifth Avenue, the Community Centre has just signed a 30 lease with the City of York Council. It has space for local community activity and has a friendly supportive environment. Our office is here, next door to the centre managers’ office – come and say hello.

St Aelred’s Community Centre

Also on Fifth Avenue but on the other side of Melrosegate, St Aelred’s has a lovely hall, kitchen and 2 small rooms available for hire.

Burnholme School

With the school now closed, the site is being developed as the York@Wellbeing campus. It will have a surgery, the library with cafe, sports facilities, a care home and community rooms available for hire. The site is due to reopen in 2018

Tang Hall Library

Now at the centre@ Burnholme, with an on-site café. The library hosts lots of local groups and has a wide range of activities on offer.

The Avenues Children’s Centre

On Seventh Avenue and together with Tang Hall Primary – this venue hosts activities for Parents and Families. The school hires out it hall for groups and activities.

St Hilda’s Church Hall

On Tang Hall Lane – this very busy and popular venue is open for hire.

Heworth Church Hall

At the top of Melrosegate and opposite the Holy Trinity Church this venue has a large room and kitchen available for hire
