Local residents in Tang Hall are leading the way in planning how to spend the £1 million of Lottery Funding awarded to the area under the Big Local programme. The Tang Hall Big Local Steering Group made up of local residents and representatives from a number of local organisations, has recently appointed Anna Bialkowska as its Chair.

“I am delighted to be working with other residents in Tang Hall on such an exciting project” says Anna. “Big Local is all about local residents deciding what they want to happen in the area to make Tang Hall an even better place to live”.

Anna has lived in York since 2001 and Tang Hall for just over a year. The Steering Group includes people who are Tang Hall ‘born and bred’ alongside those who are raising families, running businesses, volunteering or just living in the area. “Whether it is being involved in Big Local meetings, events and projects or putting forward ideas and suggestions for how the Lottery funding should be used to improve the area – the important thing is that everyone in Tang Hall can and should be part of Big Local” comments Anna.
