Tang Hall Writers is a group for beginners to creative writing.

They will meet for an hour, on a Friday afternoon, once every four weeks, at Tang Hall Community Centre in York.

They aim to bring those just starting out on their writing journey together in a comfortable, friendly and supportive environment.

The group’s first meeting will be on Friday the 20th of October, from 12.30 – 1.30pm.

“The great thing about the Tang Hall Writers group is that although it is an informal opportunity to receive support from fellow beginner writers and socialise, the meetings will be overseen by an experienced tutor from Support for Success all this has been made possible by a grant that Support for Success received from Tang Hall Big Local.

The reason for having a tutor on hand is that they will be able to provide the group with resources and information to support individuals in their creative journey.

There is no need to book to attend any of the sessions, just turn up to as few or as many of the meetings as you wish.

All we ask from you in return is a £2 donation towards the ongoing running of this group and that if you love our group, which we are sure you will, that you spread the word so more people can experience the joy of writing.”

In the future it is hoped that members of the Tang Hall community will begin to run this as a group run for the local community, by the local community.
