York Timebank – Fair shares for York.
What is a Timebank you may ask? Well a Timebank is a way for you to get involved in your community through exchanging skills & knowledge, & be rewarded for it – in time credits. Everyone’s time is valued equally. For every hour you give helping someone, you receive one time credit.

What can you do with your time credits?
You can ‘spend’ your time credits when you need help from someone else. Time credits are banked on a computer for you to spend when you need, or spend them with community partners e.g.: at Energise on leisure activities or give them to someone else.

Who can join a Timebank?
Anyone can join, as everybody has something to offer.
Join either Acomb or Tang Hall Timebank. Both groups serve people in the surrounding areas, either west or east in the city. Anyone willing to travel to these areas to give time can join too.

Timebanking is all about community and collaboration, so if you live in/near Acomb and join that group, you can exchange with members from the Tang Hall group as well and visa versa if you wish/possible.
